Dangerous Goods by Sea:
Cargo Transport Unit (CTU) pack/accept
Purpose
This course is designed specially for personnel who load dangerous goods (DG) into Cargo Transport Units (CTU) and/or load and unload vessels. It is based on the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) code, and Australian Marine Order (MO), syllabus requirements for both General Awareness and Function Specific training for such personnel.

Find out what documents and information you need to have access to, and the practical aspects of applying that information in the workplace, to properly handle, load, and document the loading of, prepared shipments of dangerous goods being transported by sea. Full compliance with the Code, plus an understanding of the concepts behind the code, will ensure your safety and the safety of those transporting your shipments. It will also ensure that Australian and international laws are not broken.

Note: Customised modules containing specific company procedures, and only accessible by that companies employees, can be created for a one time flat fee.

Course Qualification and Recognition
This course is recognized by:
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
​
A certificate is issued on successful completion of an end-of-course questionnaire. The course is based on the current IMDG incorporating all the changes. Under the current AMSA training approval system, the qualification is valid until the new IMDG Code becomes mandatory.

Who Should Attend?
If you are involved with the packing of Dangerous Goods in a CTU or loading and unloading of vessels, then this course is for you. It is ideal for warehouse and wharf personnel who do not prepare shipments of DG.
​
This course is not for personnel who mark, label packages or prepare dangerous goods declarations for sea transport.
